It means that Tesla was previously supplied by Joyson Safety Systems North America, but now both Model Y and Model 3 will be supplied directly by Joyson Safety Systems Lingang that located in Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

The global supporting products of Joyson Safety Systems for Tesla complete series vehicles includes the passive safety modules such as steering wheels, main driver airbags, front passenger airbags, head curtain airbags, side airbags, knee airbags, and vehicle seat belts, etc. At the same time, Joyson Safety Systems also supplied Tesla with high-voltage electric breakers and front hood lifters which met the latest crash regulations strictly.

Joyson Safety Systems Lingang is only 3 km from Tesla Super Plant Shanghai. This plant covers an area ofabout 60,000 square meters and currently employs more than 1,300 people, including about 200 technical engineers engaged in engineering design and development.
